Tron's TRX token has reversed a 16% slide from its May high, supported by institutional accumulation and surging stablecoin activity on the network.
TRX rose 2.2% over the past week to near $0.33, recovering 6% from late-June lows after a 16% decline from its May peak, according to CoinGecko data.
"We are executing a deliberate accumulation strategy that reflects our confidence in TRON's scalability, real-world utility, and long-term value creation," Rich Miller, chief executive officer of Tron Inc., said in a filing.
The Nasdaq-listed company now holds more than 706.9 million TRX under a 360-day plan that allocates roughly $50,000 daily to purchases. On Sunday, Tron Inc. acquired 150,742 TRX at an average price of $0.3317, bringing its weekly total to more than 1 million tokens. The token has reclaimed both its 7-day and 30-day moving averages, a pattern that 10x Research described as a bullish momentum signal that suggests selling pressure is easing.
On-chain fundamentals reinforce the case for a sustained recovery. The TRON blockchain hosts about $90 billion in circulating Tether (USDT), making it the dominant network for stablecoin transfers, according to a July report from CryptoQuant. The network processes approximately $24 billion in daily transfer volume across 2.2 million USDT transactions, figures that highlight its role as a primary settlement layer for retail payments. Average transaction fees have fallen 65% year over year to about $0.49 after last year's gas fee reduction, strengthening the network's competitive position against other L1 blockchains such as Ethereum and Solana.
TRX remains 11% below its May peak and about 23% under its all-time high of $0.4313. Whether the token has established a durable bottom will depend on broader crypto market conditions and Bitcoin's next major move, according to 10x Research.
Treasury Accumulation Accelerates
Tron Inc.'s daily buying program, disclosed in regulatory filings, is scheduled to run for 360 days and represents one of the largest publicly disclosed corporate accumulation strategies for a single altcoin. The company's holdings have grown steadily since the plan's inception, with total holdings surpassing 706.9 million TRX. At current prices, the stake is valued at roughly $233 million.
The improving technical picture and strong network usage are converging to support the positive outlook. TRON's dominance in stablecoin settlement has strengthened as lower transaction costs drive adoption. The network's $90 billion in USDT supply represents a significant share of the total stablecoin market, reinforcing its role as a settlement layer for retail payments, according to 10x Research.
Bitcoin traded near $64,047 on Tuesday, approaching a key resistance at $64,850, with the broader crypto market remaining range-bound as investors await the Federal Reserve's July 29 policy decision. TRX's recovery comes as altcoins broadly have struggled to gain traction, with Bitcoin dominance hovering near multi-year highs. If TRX can hold above its moving averages and Tron Inc. continues its accumulation, the token may be positioned to outperform its peers in the coming weeks.
