Solana spot ETFs drew $10.26 million in net inflows for the week ending August 14, roughly 70 times the prior week's $144,930, per SoSoValue data.
Bitwise's Solana ETF (BSOL) attracted $8.8 million on August 10, its largest single-day intake since May 12, while Morgan Stanley's Solana Trust (MSOL) added $1.43 million the following day, according to SoSoValue.
VanEck, Fidelity, 21Shares, Franklin Templeton, and Grayscale recorded zero net flows for the week, leaving the rebound concentrated in two funds across two trading sessions. Solana ETFs have now posted net inflows for seven consecutive weeks, totaling $28.05 million over that stretch. The funds ended the week with $893.5 million in net assets, while cumulative inflows since launch reached $1.16 billion.
Despite the renewed ETF demand, SOL traded down 1.18 percent to $75.51 at press time, leaving the inflows disconnected from price action. Combined weekly turnover across the Solana ETFs fell to $159.7 million from $167.3 million the prior week, suggesting trading interest remained muted even as net capital flows improved. Whether flows continue may hinge on the Agave v4.2 upgrade, set for mainnet activation the week of August 17.
Bitcoin and Ethereum funds moved the other way
Bitcoin ETFs shed $389.7 million after adding $853.5 million the prior week. Weekly turnover in Bitcoin funds dropped to $6.94 billion, the lowest reading since September 2024. Ethereum products finished close to flat, losing $2.26 million after $244.9 million of inflows the previous week.
Smaller altcoin funds held their ground. XRP ETFs added $2.25 million for a fifth consecutive positive week, while Hyperliquid (HYPE) products took in $2.74 million.
Morgan Stanley, meanwhile, expanded its crypto ETF footprint in the second quarter. The bank increased its position in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust by 23 percent to 16.5 million shares, raised its Fidelity Bitcoin ETF holdings by nearly 38 percent, and grew its iShares Ethereum Trust position by about 202 percent to 4.6 million shares, according to its SEC filing. It also added Solana exposure through the Grayscale Solana Staking ETF and Fidelity Solana Fund.
The broader crypto market remained range-bound, with total market capitalization at $2.16 trillion and the Fear & Greed Index at 34, reflecting cautious positioning. Bitcoin dominance held above 58 percent.
The divergence between ETF flows and SOL's price performance highlights a market where institutional demand has yet to translate into sustained buying pressure. With the Agave v4.2 upgrade approaching and MoneyGram Ramps now live on Solana, the network's next major test will be whether these fundamentals can finally move the token.
