SentinelOne is set to report Q2 fiscal 2027 earnings Aug. 27, with consensus revenue of $290 million, up 19.76% year over year.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate pegs adjusted earnings at 7 cents per share, representing 75% growth from the year-ago quarter. SentinelOne has beaten earnings estimates in each of the trailing four quarters, with an average surprise of 47.50%.
First-quarter results showed annual recurring revenue up 23% year over year, with net new ARR rising 55% to a record $44 million. Customers generating ARR of $100,000 or more increased 17%, while remaining performance obligations grew 30% to $1.5 billion. Non-endpoint ARR approached 50% of total ARR, driven by growth in AI SIEM and cloud runtime security.
The report comes as SentinelOne shares have gained 42% year to date, trading at roughly 7 times sales. The company's workforce optimization program is expected to deliver about $45 million in annualized savings, supporting an operating income target of $23-$25 million for the quarter.
The company guided second-quarter revenue between $289 million and $291 million, with adjusted earnings of 6 to 8 cents per share. Management expects operating income of $23-$25 million, implying an operating margin of about 8 percent at the midpoint.
Prompt Security ARR nearly doubled in the fiscal first quarter, while Purple AI continued gaining traction through its autonomous investigation capabilities. The May launch of Singularity AI Red Teaming broadened the company's AI security offerings, helping customers identify vulnerabilities in AI applications before deployment. Prompt Security is also serving as an entry point for new customers, creating cross-selling opportunities across endpoint, cloud and AI SIEM solutions.
Customer wins include a major luxury brand replacing Splunk with SentinelOne's AI SIEM and a large private company expanding its cloud security footprint. The diversification of revenue streams is expected to provide resilience in the second quarter.
However, macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties could affect enterprise spending, deal timing and sales cycles. A growing mix of larger and more back-end-loaded transactions may create quarterly variability.
SentinelOne competes with Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, Fortinet and Microsoft in the cybersecurity market. The company has beaten revenue estimates only once in the last four quarters and has consistently posted net losses, with neither company guidance nor analyst forecasts pointing to profitability in the near term.
The earnings release will test whether the company's AI security momentum can translate into sustained growth. Investors will watch for updated full-year guidance and commentary on AI product adoption during the earnings call on Aug. 27.
