Rosen Law Firm filed a securities fraud class action against Alarum Technologies Ltd. (ALAR) for purchases from March 20, 2025 to July 2, 2026.
The complaint alleges Alarum's subsidiary NetNut linked customer home internet devices into another network without consent, letting cyber criminals conceal their locations. "I think of residential proxy like thousands of anonymous strangers sneaking into your home to get unlimited internet access," Craig Labovitz, head of technology at Nokia Deepfield, said.
The allegations surfaced July 2, 2026, when Reuters reported Google, working with the FBI, weakened a network of internet-connected devices tied to NetNut and the Popa botnet. Alarum's American depositary receipts fell $2.67, or 20.8 percent, to close at $6.35 that day. After Bloomberg reported the FBI was investigating whether NetNut linked customers' devices without consent, the ADRs fell another $4.96, or 61.85 percent, over two sessions to close at $3.06 on July 6.
The lawsuit claims defendants failed to disclose that NetNut's activity materially heightened Alarum's legal exposure and threatened its business prospects. Investors who bought ALAR securities during the class period have until October 5, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff.
Alarum describes itself as a global provider of web data collection solutions. On July 4, 2026, the company announced a temporary operational pause of certain network services, sending ADRs down $3.27, or 51.49 percent, to $3.08 on July 6. The U.S. Department of Justice said the FBI seized multiple internet domains as part of coordinated law enforcement targeting NetNut's residential proxy platforms, its administrators and its users. Similar actions have been filed by Pomerantz LLP, Robbins LLP and The Law Offices of Frank R. Cruz, all citing the same class period and deadline.
The lawsuit adds legal and reputational pressure on Alarum as it pauses network services tied to the probe. Investors will watch the October 5, 2026 lead plaintiff deadline and any further disclosures from the FBI investigation.
