GE Vernova reported Q2 revenue of $11.1 billion, beating the $10.73 billion consensus estimate as AI data center demand fueled power equipment orders.
The company carries 30 Buy ratings, eight Hold ratings and zero Sell ratings from analysts, with a consensus price target of $1,221.48 implying about 13% upside, according to Barron's data. AI-model targets project further upside to $1,484.04, or 37.5% above current levels.
Revenue exceeded the average estimate by about $370 million. Orders reached $24.2 billion in the quarter, while net income came in at $600 million. The Power segment generated roughly $5.5 billion in revenue, up about 11% sequentially, driven by growth in gas equipment orders and services. The Electrification segment contributed about $3.5 billion, with healthy equipment orders and margin expansion from higher volume and favorable pricing, per company guidance. The Wind segment remained a drag, with EBITDA losses projected between $200 million and $300 million on lower onshore equipment deliveries and ongoing supply-chain issues. Earnings per share were not disclosed in the preliminary release.
The results show the widening gap between global demand for gas turbines and available supply, as utilities and independent power producers add capacity for AI-driven electricity consumption. The sharp rise in electricity demand from data centers is creating growth opportunities across GE Vernova's gas turbine business, grid solutions and broader power infrastructure. The company also stands to benefit from nuclear power momentum through its small modular reactor capabilities.
GE Vernova has cemented its position as a long-term beneficiary of the AI-boosted energy boom across natural gas, electrification and grid expansion, per Zacks Investment Research. The company's backlog growth across these segments provides multi-year revenue visibility, with gas turbine orders typically converting into decades of service revenue. Before the release, prediction markets on Polymarket assigned an 85.5% probability that Q2 orders would exceed $18 billion, a threshold the company cleared by a wide margin.
Shares of GE Vernova have gained about 63% year to date, outperforming the S&P 500's gain of about 15% over the same period. The strong order pipeline and margin trajectory suggest the company is well positioned to deliver sustained growth as AI infrastructure buildout accelerates. Investors will watch the earnings call for updated segment margin guidance and any changes to the full-year outlook.
