Regulated digital securities platform tZERO has integrated its tokenization infrastructure with the Aptos blockchain, enabling institutional issuers to mint and manage real-world asset (RWA) tokens on the high-throughput Layer 1 network as of May 12.
The integration reflects the company’s focus on tokenized assets and its use of institutional-grade infrastructure, according to Alan Konevsky, CEO of tZERO. The move allows tZERO, which operates an Alternative Trading System (ATS), to use Aptos as a preferred execution layer for tokenized securities.
The partnership taps into a growing RWA ecosystem on Aptos, which reports over $1.2 billion in assets already tokenized on the network. The Aptos Foundation, a non-profit supporting the ecosystem, has further fueled activity by distributing over $150 million in grants across various sectors including DeFi and AI.
“As institutions shift towards tokenization, real-world assets are becoming the backbone of the on-chain economy,” said Solomon Tesfaye, Chief Business Officer at Aptos Labs. “With tZERO, we can expand access to tokenized assets even further by enhancing its everyday utility and leveraging Aptos as one of the largest venues for real-world assets.”
The collaboration places tZERO and Aptos within a competitive field of platforms seeking to bridge traditional finance and blockchain. Major financial firms like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton have already made significant moves into tokenization, signaling deep institutional interest. The Aptos blockchain is recognized for its scalability and security, positioning it as a competitor to other high-performance blockchains like Solana.
The RWA sector has seen a flurry of activity in 2026. Ondo Finance, a leading RWA platform with around $935 million in tokenized equities TVL, recently enabled its tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs on Hyperliquid’s HyperEVM. In a similar strategic push, the Casper Association recently published a technical roadmap focused on making its network an infrastructure layer for regulated RWA tokenization, highlighting the race to build compliant, institutional-grade platforms.
