Summer.fi Converts User Points to $SUMR at 2.26:1 Ratio
DeFi yield platform Summer.fi has confirmed an airdrop for its native token, $SUMR, which is scheduled to launch on January 21, 2026. The initial allocation was determined by a retroactive snapshot that converted existing user points, called $RAYS, into the new token at a fixed rate of 2.26 $RAYS for every 1 $SUMR. The snapshot includes user activity, such as borrowing and earning, dating back to 2021.
To incentivize continued engagement, the protocol will conduct a second snapshot in three months. This provides an opportunity for both existing and new users to accumulate more $RAYS points through platform interactions, which will be converted into $SUMR tokens in a future distribution.
New Users Can Qualify With $500 Minimum Deposit
Summer.fi has created a clear pathway for new participants to become eligible for rewards. By opening a position of $500 or more and holding it for a minimum of 14 days, new users can claim retroactive $RAYS points. The platform functions as an automated yield optimizer, managing user deposits of ETH and stablecoins across multiple protocols to maximize returns without manual intervention. Users can deposit assets on chains including Ethereum Mainnet, Base, HyperEVM, Arbitrum, and Sonic.
The project operates on a non-custodial basis and has been on mainnet for seven years, securing over $10 billion in capital. Its development is supported by $11 million raised across two funding rounds from investors including Libertus Capital, UDHC, and Road Capital.
Post-Launch Staking Offers Dual $SUMR and USDC Rewards
Following the token generation event, users will have additional methods to increase their returns. Staking the $SUMR token will provide dual rewards in the form of both additional $SUMR and USDC stablecoins. This mechanism is designed to reward long-term holders and active participants in the ecosystem.
Users can also maximize their potential allocation by diversifying deposits across multiple supported blockchains, as each chain tracks $RAYS accumulation independently. Furthermore, active participation in governance votes at gov.summer.fi earns bonus $RAYS points, potentially leading to a larger final airdrop allocation.
