Solana's 30-month uptime record directly counters its history of outages, strengthening its case against Ethereum for institutional workloads.

Solana's blockchain has operated without a network-wide outage for 30 consecutive months, the longest uninterrupted stretch in its history, as of Aug. 10.
The record follows protocol upgrades including a second validator client, a revamped fee market and changes to the data transport layer that reduce spam traffic, according to the network's status reporting. "The TD Sequential has flashed a buy signal and the MACD shows a golden cross, suggesting SOL is set to break above $78," Ali Martinez, a crypto analyst, said.
SOL rose nearly 7 percent to $77.36 from $72.49, breaking a five-week descending channel, as proposals to double the inflation decline rate and cut future supply drew interest. The token remains down 38.45 percent in 2026. Bitcoin held above $65,000 as Iran-Oman talks eased Strait of Hormuz tensions, lifting the broader crypto market.
The uptime milestone removes the main objection institutions raised to building on Solana, which suffered repeated outages in 2022. Sustained reliability could accelerate developer migration and lift demand for SOL. The next test is holding above $77, then clearing the $90-$100 range, which analysts say could open a path toward $176-$210.
While individual validators have experienced isolated issues, the network has maintained continuous block production and transaction finalization, according to the status data. The achievement strengthens Solana's competitive position against Ethereum and Cardano, which have both faced scrutiny over network performance and leadership stability. Cardano, in particular, is navigating a leadership transition as its chief technology officer steps down Aug. 31, a contrast that highlights Solana's operational consistency.
The supply proposals, if approved, would accelerate the reduction in SOL's inflation rate, tightening available supply as network confidence grows. Developer engagement and institutional interest are expected to rise as the reliability record extends, potentially increasing demand for the native token. Solana's DeFi ecosystem, which ranks among the largest by total value locked, stands to benefit most from renewed confidence in the network's ability to process transactions without interruption.
