Shade Network Allocates 33.3% of Token Supply to Early Adopters
Shade Network, a privacy-focused Layer-2 blockchain built on Ethereum, has officially confirmed it will airdrop its native $SHD token. The project has allocated a substantial portion, up to 33.3% of the total token supply, to participants of its inaugural "Season 0" rewards program. This strategy aims to incentivize early adopters who engage with the protocol and contribute to its ecosystem growth ahead of the mainnet launch. The structure notably bypasses venture capital funding, directing value exclusively to its community of token holders.
Points System Rewards Testnet and Social Engagement
Airdrop eligibility and allocation size will be determined by a points-based system. Users can accumulate "Shadow Points" by completing a variety of tasks tracked on a dedicated dashboard. Key activities include interacting with the testnet, such as sending private transactions and deploying private smart contracts. Participants also earn points by completing social quests, like following the project's official channels, and by successfully referring new users, which grants 50 points per approved invite. An initial 100 bonus points are available for users who join with an existing referral code.
Privacy-by-Default L2 Enters Testnet Phase
Shade Network's testnet went live on January 19, 2026, marking a critical phase for user participation. The platform is designed to protect users from Miner Extractable Value (MEV) exploitation and front-running by making all on-chain actions private by default through an encrypted mempool and transaction execution. While offering these enhanced privacy features, the network maintains full compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Users can obtain test ETH from the project's faucet to cover gas fees for testnet activities.
