ServiceNow's agentic AI portfolio crossed $1 billion in annual contract value in the second quarter, with production deployments rising ninefold in nine months as enterprises automate IT, customer service, and employee workflows.
"Advisory AI has run its course; enterprises need AI that senses, decides, and securely acts in accordance with organizational guardrails," Amit Zavery, president, chief product officer, and chief operating officer at ServiceNow, said.
AI net new ACV rose more than 40 percent sequentially, while deals incorporating five or more AI products grew 5.5 times year over year. First-time agentic AI buyers increased 45 percent year over year, and $1 million-plus AI deals tripled. The percentage of renewal customers purchasing agentic AI for the first time doubled both sequentially and year over year. Half of net new business is now non-seat-based, reducing dependence on traditional license expansion as autonomous agents take on defined work.
The momentum puts ServiceNow ahead of its long-term target for AI to contribute 30 percent of ACV by 2030, and management expects to exceed $1.5 billion in AI ACV by year-end. That trajectory pressures Microsoft and Salesforce, which are also pushing agentic AI into enterprise workflows.
Autonomous Agents Are Resolving Real Work
The adoption data shows agents moving from pilots to production. More than 40 customers are running ServiceNow's Level 1 IT service management AI specialists, which resolve roughly 80 to 85 percent of service requests without human interaction. Some requests that previously took two days now complete in about 20 minutes.
The productivity gains are driving cross-selling. EmployeeWorks deal volume rose more than 150 percent quarter over quarter, RaptorDB Pro deal volume climbed 80 percent year over year, and Workflow Data Fabric appeared in 17 of ServiceNow's top 20 deals. New AI-native SKUs are generating price uplifts within the company's targeted 20 to 30 percent framework, and the company is preparing additional offerings including a conversational service-desk experience with no tickets and AI-coded automation.
ServiceNow's broader agentic stack — AI Control Tower for governance, Context Engine for enterprise data grounding, and Action Fabric for orchestration — extends the company's reach beyond IT into customer service, sales, and security operations. The Autonomous Workforce platform supports service, sales qualification, quoting, order fulfillment, invoice disputes, and renewals, while triaging, solving, and escalating cases across channels.
Competitive Pressure on Microsoft and Salesforce
ServiceNow's acceleration comes as Microsoft and Salesforce push their own agentic AI offerings. Salesforce's Headless 360 expansion uses MCP-based architecture to let agents discover and invoke CRM capabilities at runtime, while Microsoft continues to embed Copilot across its enterprise stack. ServiceNow's non-seat-based model — 50 percent of net new business — marks a structural shift away from per-user pricing that could reshape how enterprise software vendors monetize AI.
The broader agentic CX market is also drawing new entrants. Synthflow, a voice AI platform, is building agents around end-to-end resolution of multi-step conversations, while 8×8 has partnered with Synthflow to bring voice AI resolution to contact centers. These moves show that agentic AI is becoming a platform-level capability rather than a bolt-on feature.
ServiceNow shares have benefited from the AI momentum, with the company tracking ahead of its 2030 target of 30 percent AI contribution to ACV. The $1.5 billion AI ACV goal for 2026 implies continued acceleration through the second half. For investors, the key question is whether ServiceNow can sustain this growth as Microsoft and Salesforce scale their own agentic platforms.
