Key Takeaways:
- Phantom will end Monad network support on Aug. 26, 2026.
- MON holders must migrate assets to EVM-compatible wallets like MetaMask.
- A $30 million Monad buyback program may cushion potential selling pressure.
Key Takeaways:

Phantom will drop support for the Monad network on Aug. 26, giving holders of MON tokens roughly one month to migrate assets to alternative wallets.
"After careful consideration, Phantom will end support for the Monad network effective Aug. 26," the company said in a post on X on July 25. The wallet said it will send in-app notifications to Monad users with instructions on how to move or swap their assets.
Phantom added Monad support in November 2025, around the time of Monad's mainnet launch, making the integration roughly nine months old. Users can transfer Monad-based assets to another EVM-compatible wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby, or swap them for Solana-based Wrapped Monad. Because Monad is EVM-compatible, migrating to alternative wallets requires exporting a private key or seed phrase and importing it into a new wallet.
The exit could trigger selling pressure on MON tokens as users decide whether to migrate or exit positions entirely. Monad announced a potential open-market buyback of up to $30 million worth of MON tokens earlier in 2026, which may help offset any selloff. Neither Phantom nor Monad has disclosed a reason for the decision. Monad's total token supply stands at 100 billion MON.
