The price of ONDO, the native token of the Ondo Finance ecosystem, rose 13% in 24 hours as its tokenized securities platform crossed $1 billion in total value locked (TVL). The token traded at $0.45 on May 19, 2026, amid a broader crypto market recovery.
"Crossing $1 billion in total value locked is a validation of the thesis that global investors want access to US capital markets through infrastructure that is more transparent, more accessible, and more efficient than the legacy system,” said Ian De Bode, President of Ondo Finance.
The milestone, reached in under eight months since a September 2025 launch, gives the platform over 70% market share among tokenized equity issuers, according to data from RWA.xyz. The platform, which offers over 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs on chains like Solana and Ethereum, has processed more than $18 billion in cumulative trading volume.
The growth outpaces the broader tokenized asset market, which itself has grown 47% year-to-date. Katie Wheeler, Managing Director at Ondo Finance, predicted the platform could surpass $5 billion in TVL by the end of the year, signaling aggressive growth targets that would quintuple its current size.
Tokenizing Wall Street
Ondo Global Markets (OGM) allows investors outside the United States to buy and trade tokenized versions of publicly listed American stocks and ETFs on blockchain rails. Each token is fully backed by the underlying security, which is held by a U.S.-registered broker-dealer, and tracks the total return, including dividends.
The platform's TVL has doubled since January 2026 and has been growing at a rate of 3 to 5% weekly. This rapid scaling comes as Ondo pursues wider regulatory acceptance, having recently filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and secured approval to operate across 30 European countries.
The appeal, according to De Bode, is providing a seamless way for global crypto wealth to diversify into U.S. equities without navigating traditional brokerage hurdles. The assets are available through major crypto platforms like Binance, MetaMask, and Phantom, bridging the gap between the digital asset world and traditional finance.
