(Bloomberg) -- Healthcare Triangle (Nasdaq: HCTI) reported first-quarter revenue of $9.9 million, a 166% year-over-year surge, after its acquisition of two AI-focused customer engagement firms.
"The acquisition of Teyame and Datono has had an immediate and material positive impact on our financial results," David Ayanoglou, Chief Financial Officer of Healthcare Triangle, said. "This is precisely the kind of transformative, margin-accretive growth we envisioned."
The results, released May 14, show the company's strategic shift into AI-powered services is already paying off. The new Customer Engagement Services segment, formed by the acquisitions, accounted for 70% of total revenue in its first quarter of consolidation.
Acquisitions Fuel Growth
Healthcare Triangle's January 2026 acquisition of Teyame 360 S.L. and Datono Mediacion S.L. was the primary driver of its first-quarter performance. The two companies form an integrated, AI-powered platform for customer experience and insurance distribution.
The new Customer Engagement Services segment generated $6.9 million in revenue and $2.0 million in segment gross profit, operating at a gross margin of approximately 29 percent. This higher-margin revenue stream was the main factor behind the company's consolidated gross margin expanding to 24% from just 9% in the same quarter last year. Management expects margins to continue improving as the integration matures.
Looking Forward
The strong performance from the new acquisitions significantly alters the financial profile of Healthcare Triangle, establishing a major new revenue stream that offsets modest declines in its legacy service segments. The company's ability to integrate these new AI-driven capabilities across its broader healthcare technology offerings will be a key focus for investors. The next major catalyst will be the company's second-quarter earnings report, which will show if the powerful growth from the new segment can be sustained.
