ZUG, SWITZERLAND – The Casper Association on May 12 published the Casper Manifest, a multi-year technical roadmap detailing nine initiatives to build infrastructure for regulated real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and the emerging machine-to-machine economy. The price of Casper's native token ($CSPR) was trading at $0.0305 as of 11:23 UTC on May 12, near its all-time low, according to data in a supporting report.
"Much of the industry is focused on either maximizing hype, or iterating on concepts that service the same existing, crypto-native use cases," Michael Steuer, President and CTO of the Casper Association, said at the Digital Finance Forum in Bermuda. "Few are building the infrastructure that will onboard the next billion users, the next trillion dollars in tokenized assets, or the first billion machines."
The roadmap's nine initiatives focus on developer access, user experience, and institutional-grade features. Key among them is bringing full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility to Casper’s WebAssembly foundation, allowing developers to migrate Solidity contracts and use tools like MetaMask without modification. The plan also outlines gasless transactions and smart accounts with biometric authentication to make blockchain applications more accessible to mainstream users.
The manifest positions Casper to compete for a share of the $16 trillion RWA tokenization market by combining regulatory compliance and privacy. The network is building compliant security tokens aligned with the ERC-3643 standard, which already secures $28 billion in assets. This will be paired with a privacy system that delivers confidential transactions with fixed costs and built-in tools for regulatory verification, a feature designed to meet institutional needs as networks like Ethereum and Solana dominate current tokenization flows.
Roadmap for Machines and Institutions
A core focus of the manifest is creating native infrastructure for the machine economy. As a member of the X402 Foundation, Casper is implementing the X402 open payment standard to allow AI agents to pay each other for services programmatically. The network expects to be the first WebAssembly-native Layer-1 with production support for X402, with the first initiative scheduled to ship in the coming weeks.
For institutions, the roadmap promises features designed for long-term deployments. Casper plans to be the first major smart contract platform to ship post-quantum transaction signing, using hybrid accounts with both classical and quantum-resistant keys. "For institutions evaluating blockchain platforms for decade-long deployments, the answer to 'what happens when quantum computers arrive' will be production code, not a research paper," Steuer added.
Other initiatives include a Native Token Registry to give user-created tokens the same fixed, predictable costs as the native currency, and networking hardening.
Phased Rollout Through 2027
The nine initiatives will be rolled out in phases. Following the initial X402 micropayment launch, Casper plans to ship EVM compatibility and compliant security tokens later in 2026. These will be followed by the Native Token Registry, gasless transactions, and smart accounts. The final phases, including transaction privacy and quantum safety, are planned for completion through 2027.
