Chinese display maker BOE moved to cool speculation, stating it has no partnership with Nvidia and that new technologies are 2-3 years from impacting results.
"As of now, the company has not conducted any business cooperation with Nvidia, and some media inferences lack a factual basis," BOE said in a public statement Thursday.
The announcement follows a limit-up surge in BOE's stock on May 21, triggered by news that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with US glass supplier Corning. The company clarified the MOU is largely non-binding and only represents an intention to cooperate on applications like glass substrates for packaging.
The risk warning aims to temper overheated market sentiment that had linked BOE to the AI supply chain through Nvidia. The company emphasized its glass substrate, perovskite, and optical interconnection businesses are still in early validation stages and will not generate mass-production revenue in the near term.
The clarification resets investor expectations for the immediate profitability of its advanced packaging ventures. Investors will now watch for further announcements on the conversion of the Corning MOU into binding agreements and any pilot-line production updates.
