Bitmine Immersion Technologies shares rose 8 percent after the company bought 32,447 ETH, lifting its treasury to 5.85 million tokens worth about $14.3 billion.
"Ether rose 30 percent last week, its biggest weekly gain since May 2025," Tom Lee, chairman of Bitmine, said. "After the previous two weekly gains of more than 30 percent, Ether went on to climb another 167 percent and 170 percent, respectively."
Bitmine now holds 5,847,611 ETH, roughly 4.8 percent of Ethereum's circulating supply of 120.7 million tokens. The company has staked 5,067,309 ETH — about 87 percent of its holdings — through its MAVAN platform at a 2.67 percent annualized yield, projecting $330 million in yearly staking income. Total crypto, cash, marketable securities and strategic investments reached $14.9 billion as of Aug. 24, including $308 million in cash, 210 Bitcoin, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries and $89 million in Eightco Holdings.
The purchase brings Bitmine to 97 percent of its goal of acquiring 5 percent of all ETH supply. Lee pointed to Wall Street tokenization and agentic AI as drivers for further gains in the ETH-BTC ratio, which has historically climbed during crypto bull markets. If all of Bitmine's ETH were staked, annual rewards would rise to about $381 million.
Staking economics and buyback support
The company has bought ETH every week for about 14 months since launching its treasury strategy on June 30, 2025. At an ETH price of $2,440, Bitmine's holdings are worth approximately $14.3 billion. The company also authorized a $4 billion share repurchase program and has bought back roughly 20.8 million shares. BMNR was added to the Russell 1000 Large-cap index, creating baseline demand from passive funds.
BMNR trades like a leveraged Ethereum vehicle rather than a traditional tech stock. The company posted roughly $6.1 million in quarterly revenue against an enterprise value above $12.67 billion, implying a price-to-sales ratio near 200x. Profitability metrics remain deeply negative. The stock's valuation rests on Ethereum's long-term dominance, staking economics, and management's ability to monetize its treasury through crypto cycles.
The acquisition also strengthens Bitmine's position relative to Strategy, the largest crypto treasury company globally. While Strategy holds primarily Bitcoin, Bitmine's focus on Ethereum staking creates a distinct yield-generating model that pure Bitcoin treasuries lack.
BMNR has climbed from about $17.28 on July 31 to roughly $22.85 by Aug. 21, a powerful uptrend that shows buyers consistently stepping in on dips. The stock held a tight $22.20-$23.30 range intraday on the latest session, a pattern that often indicates consolidation rather than immediate exhaustion.
