Key Takeaways:
- Samsung Wallet will support USDC and other stablecoins natively
- The feature targets more than 75 million Galaxy users in the US
- Samsung also launched a Galaxy Card with Barclays and Visa
Key Takeaways:

Samsung will integrate native stablecoin support into its Wallet app, bringing USDC and other digital dollar payments to more than 75 million Galaxy device owners in the US.
Samsung Electronics said it will add native stablecoin support to Samsung Wallet, including USDC from Circle, bringing crypto payments to more than 75 million Galaxy users in the US.
"We are expanding Samsung Wallet to support stablecoins and other forms of digital value transfers," a Samsung spokesperson said at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London on Wednesday.
The company did not disclose a full list of supported stablecoins, launch timeline, or technology partners. The move follows an October 2025 partnership with Coinbase that let US Galaxy users buy crypto directly through Samsung Wallet. Samsung also announced a Galaxy Card issued through Barclays and Visa, adding a credit product to its growing financial services stack.
The integration marks one of the largest mainstream distribution deals for stablecoins, which have a combined market capitalization of more than $200 billion, according to DefiLlama. USDC, the second-largest stablecoin by supply, could see a meaningful demand boost if Samsung's 75 million US users begin using the token for everyday payments.
Samsung's Crypto Pivot
The stablecoin announcement is the latest step in Samsung's broader push into blockchain-based financial services. The South Korean electronics giant has been building out its digital asset capabilities for years. In 2022, Samsung units took a $408 million stake in Dunamu, the operator of South Korea's largest crypto exchange, Upbit.
Samsung Wallet already combines payment cards, loyalty rewards, boarding passes, and digital IDs. Adding stablecoins transforms the wallet from a passive storage tool into a potential payments rail, allowing users to send and receive USDC and other dollar-pegged tokens directly from their phones.
What It Means for Stablecoin Adoption
For Circle, the USDC issuer, the Samsung deal represents a distribution channel that rivals traditional banking apps. USDC's circulating supply stood at roughly $35 billion as of late July, per DefiLlama data. A Samsung integration that reaches even a fraction of the company's 75 million US Galaxy users could meaningfully expand the token's user base beyond crypto-native traders and DeFi participants.
Samsung has not said whether the stablecoin feature will extend beyond the US or which blockchain networks it will support. The company also declined to comment on whether it plans to issue its own stablecoin or partner with additional issuers beyond Circle.
The Galaxy Card, announced alongside the Wallet update, adds a traditional credit card to Samsung's financial ecosystem, giving users a bridge between fiat and digital dollar spending within a single app.
