XRP spot ETFs logged more than $45 million in net inflows over their strongest three-day stretch on record, lifting cumulative flows near $1.55 billion as of Aug. 25.
Coinglass data shows XRP futures open interest climbed 34.49 percent to about $3.66 billion over seven days, while Binance positioning data shows 72.1 percent of accounts holding long positions versus 27.9 percent short.
The three-day inflow burst follows $18.38 million in net inflows on Aug. 21 alone, with Bitwise accounting for about $16.89 million. Weekly inflows approached $40 million, the strongest week for XRP ETFs since May, while total assets under management across XRP spot products approach $1.2 billion.
XRP traded at $1.511 as of 00:05 ET on Aug. 25, up 2.15 percent on the day and 51.10 percent over seven days, after briefly touching $1.69 on Aug. 22 before retreating. The token's market cap stands at $92.95 billion with $22.45 billion in daily volume, but a daily RSI reading near 84.5 puts the token in overbought territory, raising the risk of a pullback toward the $1.40-$1.50 support zone.
The ETF inflow story is only half the picture. XRP's rally from below $1 to $1.50 in less than two weeks has been accompanied by aggressive derivatives positioning. Twenty-four-hour liquidations reached $70.74 million, with longs accounting for $54.68 million, or 77.3 percent of the total. Three-day liquidations hit $145.15 million, while the largest single wipeout reached $50.27 million on Aug. 22.
Funding rates remain positive at 0.01 percent every four hours, equivalent to an annualized rate near 24.94 percent, meaning longs are still paying a premium to maintain positions even after heavy losses. Roughly $2.2 million in short positions sit at risk as XRP pushed through the $1.40-$1.50 range.
The broader crypto market backdrop has supported XRP's move. Bitcoin climbed from $62,000 to $77,000 over the same window, while the Crypto Fear & Greed Index reached 67, classified as Greed. Gemini's decision to enable direct XRP Ledger deposits and withdrawals for Singapore users adds a utility layer, connecting the token to a major Asian financial hub regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
However, regulatory uncertainty persists. The postponement of key SEC sessions and congressional delays surrounding the CLARITY Act have deferred institutional policy clarity. Large wallet exchange transfers and recurring monthly escrow releases continue to generate overhead supply, threatening spot price stability if ETF inflows slow.
The $45 million inflow burst demonstrates growing institutional appetite for XRP as a regulated investment vehicle, but the gap between ETF flows and the token's $92.95 billion market cap means derivatives positioning, not spot demand, is driving much of the recent price action. A sustained close above the $1.65-$1.70 resistance zone would validate the bullish thesis; failure to hold $1.40 could trigger a cascade of long liquidations.
