BNB traded near $713 on Sept. 4 after momentarily touching $725-730, extending one of its strongest multi-month rallies as capital rotates into altcoins beyond Bitcoin.
The macro backdrop turned supportive after Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said on Sept. 4 he backs holding rates steady if inflation keeps improving. Bitcoin jumped about 5 percent to roughly $81,300, and spot BTC ETFs drew about $730 million in net inflows, their largest since January, according to market data.
The rotation into altcoins has been reinforced by a derivatives squeeze. More than $370 million in crypto shorts were liquidated over the prior 24 to 48 hours, with over $140 million wiped out in a single hour as BTC, ETH, and XRP spiked. High-beta tokens absorbed the bulk of that forced buying, and BNB's move above $700 reflects that positioning reset as much as any token-specific news.
For BNB, the $725-730 zone marks a critical resistance level. A sustained break above that range would extend one of the token's biggest upward trends in recent months, while a failure to hold $700 could trigger profit-taking from traders who entered during the run-up. The structural shift underlying BNB's rally is the sector-wide rotation itself — capital moving from Bitcoin into altcoins and memecoins as the Fed's dovish stance keeps risk appetite elevated.
The altcoin season narrative extends beyond BNB. Uniswap's UNI, Gram's GRAM, and Chainlink's LINK have all been moving higher as part of the same sector-wide rotation. Memecoin activity has been particularly strong, with SPX6900 surging 13.2 percent in 24 hours and Robinhood Chain's meme launchpad Pons recording over $500 million in daily trading volume with nearly 25,000 token launches in a single day.
The key question for BNB holders is whether the altcoin season has enough momentum to push the token through the $725-730 resistance. With the Fed appearing dovish and ETF inflows accelerating, the macro backdrop remains supportive. But the token's ability to sustain levels above $700 will depend on continued capital rotation into altcoins — a dynamic that can shift quickly if Bitcoin dominance resumes its upward trend.
