XRP outpaced Bitcoin 46% to 21% in the past week, with record ETF inflows pointing to a shift toward institutional capital.

XRP rose 46% in the week ended Aug. 30, double Bitcoin's 21% gain, as record ETF inflows drew institutional buyers.
"The outperformance reflects a new class of institutional investors seeking real-world utility rather than retail speculation," EGRAG CRYPTO, a market analyst who tracks XRP's price history, said on X.
Spot XRP ETFs recorded their best week since May, drawing $39.78 million in net inflows, with cumulative totals reaching an all-time high of $1.55 billion, SoSoValue data shows. Bitwise led with $542.69 million in cumulative inflows, followed by Canary Capital's $468.12 million and Franklin Templeton's $434.16 million. The token hit a seven-month high of $1.70 on Aug. 22 before sellers pushed it back to $1.42, and it traded near $1.50 at the time of writing.
The question is whether XRP can hold above the $1.65-$1.70 resistance zone that has capped multiple rally attempts, with the 200-week EMA at $1.37 serving as the key support. A decisive break higher would confirm the institutional rotation narrative, while a drop below $1.27 would signal the rally has stalled.
ETF inflows signal a structural shift
The weekly inflow of $110.49 million between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28 marked the strongest performance for XRP ETFs since December 2025, according to SoSoValue. Bitwise captured $59.95 million of that total, with Franklin Templeton adding $28.7 million. The five US-listed XRP ETFs collectively manage $1.44 billion in net assets, representing 1.66 percent of XRP's $87.43 billion market capitalization.
The flows accelerated after a slow start to August. Seven of the month's first 11 trading days saw no inflows at all, before a $5.81 million day on Aug. 18 broke the streak. Inflows then jumped to $13.24 million on Thursday and $18.38 million on Friday, the single-best day for the funds since May 14.
On-chain activity and price levels
Blockchain data from BankXRP shows receiving addresses expanding to 926,320, accompanied by elevated transaction volumes, suggesting heightened network engagement. XRP's August gain of 36.9 percent already ranks as the third-best August on record, behind 2021's 58.9 percent and 2017's 45.2 percent, EGRAG's analysis shows.
The token now faces a key resistance zone between $1.48 and $1.50, with the 200-day EMA at $1.34 providing support below. EGRAG projects initial targets at $1.65, followed by $2.00-$2.80, with speculative long-range targets extending to $15, $27, and $50 should XRP defend its 300-week moving average near $1.03.
The institutional narrative also gained support from Evernorth, an XRP treasury firm holding 473,276,430 tokens worth about $672.3 million, which secured SEC clearance for a NASDAQ listing through a merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. A shareholder vote is scheduled for Sept. 30.
